On September 29, 2017, First Lieutenant Muiche, Wilfrid made history; twice. After nine months of intense and challenging training, then-Second Lieutenant Muiche graduated from the Basic Officer Leaders Course (BOLC) not only as one of the first four U.S. Army Reserve Officers to successfully complete Cyber BOLC, but also as the first U.S. Army Reserve Officer to become Honor Graduate of Cyber BOLC.
First Lieutenant Muiche’s initial assignment was with Army Reserve – Cyber Protection Brigade (formerly the ARCOG) Cyber Protection Team 186 located in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, where he currently serves as a Systems Architect. His team’s top priority has been to achieve Full Operational Capability (FOC) according to Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) standards. For that reason, his main focus has been to help ensure that all Soldiers on his team, from junior enlisted through senior officers, are fully trained and ready. First Lieutenant Muiche has played an active and important role in that mission. In the nearly three years since graduation, 1LT Muiche has participated in Cyber Shield 2018 at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, and successfully led a team during the Cyber Blitz exercise at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He has also completed the Mission Protect (MP), and Discovery & Counter Infiltration (DCI) methodologies training courses, and is actively preparing for the next milestone of his professional military education (PME), the Cyber Captain’s Career Course.
When not in uniform, LT Muiche balances his responsibilities as a full-time Software Developer for the state of Ohio Department of Public Safety, a community leader, a husband to his wife Gertrude and father of 3 beautiful children: Glorious, Brightness and Fielgrace. He is also an entrepreneur, serving as founder and CEO of Willan Technologies, a global IT firm headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
